Lorkaes is nothing more than a wanderer. Escaping the total razing of his birth-colony by fearful humans (and others), he took up interstellar "hitchhiking" on cargo ships, concealing himself with his inborn abilities.

Stranded in Chavenlink, he is fearful of *anyone*. Revealing himself and what he is, he thinks, will only win him another scar or two on his pale hide. So Lorkaes lives on the tenous edge, stealing, scrounging, and hiding until he can find a way back to Tran...
