Welcome to PeaceKeeper Headquarters
Chavenlink, Quorta III
Off-duty Lounge
The lounge is carpeted in short, stiff, stained and worn carpet that looks
like it may have once been navy blue. Now, it's a sicklly medium grey-blue and
blotched with food and drink stains. To the left as one enters is a large pool
table. The cues, chalk and rack are off to one side, the cues clustered in the
corner, the rack and chalks on a small wall-mounted shelf. The pool balls are
battered and look like someone played baseball with them a few times. They are
sitting forelornly on the worn felt, await the next game. The only balls not
on the felt are the cue ball, the seven and the ten. The ten ball is in the
far side pocket, the cue in the nearest corner and the seven ball is nowhere to
be seen.
Two battered chairs and a mismatched sectional couch are clustered under the
room's only window. The first armchair looks like it was used as a scratching
post for all the local Stonecats and what little upholstery can be seen is a
stomach-turning greenish yellow. The second chair seems to have held up better.
It was obviously designed for a species larger than most humanoids and is
surprisingly new-looking, done in dark brown with blue flecking. The two
outside peices of the sectional couch are an ancient, pilly fabric of a color
that can't seem to make up its mind if it's grey or beige. The middle sections
are dark brown and have some bizarre-colored stains and scars on them, not to
mention a large number of burns on the far end of the bend section.
There are old vertical blinds on the dusty window that look like they might
disintegrate if touched, opened or closed more than they currently are. The
view out the window overlooks the neighboring vacant lot. The only other light
in the room comes from a few battered floor lamps with shades horribly askew
from too many rough-housing games while the Stonecats were idle on-call.
Just inside the door, to the right, is a bookcase. It contains a wide
variety of books and bookchips, ranging from novels and 'fluff' reading to
philisophical works and medical journals. Most of the books seem to be unread
and have a good layer of dust on them.
